Hawker-Beechcraft employs 4,100 people in Wichita, Kansas.

The Beechcraft Model 18 "Twin Beech", held the record for the most years in continous production of any aircraft in the world (33 years - 1937 to 1970). That record was broken by   the Beechcraft Bonanza.which was introduced in 1947 and is still in production.

Wichita is known as the "Air Capital of the World" because, Beechcraft, Cessna, Steerman and several other aircraft manufactureres located there in the 1930's. Today Wichita is still home to Beechcraft, Cessna, Learjet and Spirt.

The Bonanza 35/36 holds the distinction of being one of the most successful aircraft in aviation history, with more than 17,000 built.
